A Film on Ethereum Might Be Released in the Near Future

With the news of a movie in the works, Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, is moving a massive step closer to becoming mainstream. With multiple honorable mentions in movies, Bitcoin has gotten the most attention, but now it’s Ethereum’s turn to shine.

From the pages of a novel to the silver screen:

Following the announcement that Camila Russo’s best-selling book would be converted into a film, Ethereum’s ecosystem was overflowing with enthusiasm. The book “The Infinite Machine: How an Army of Crypto Hackers is Building the Next Internet With Ethereum” followed the development of Ethereum from its inception as a concept in Vitalik Buterin’s mind to its current status as a giant in the industry.

The film will be based on the book and will be the first major feature-length film on cryptocurrency ever made. Aside from the development, it intends to build a healthy community around it through the usage of NFTs in a decentralized environment.

Camila Russo, the author of the book, stated:

We think that Ethereum is creating a future in which users and audiences are now owners and participants, and that the Infinite Machine film should be a part of that movement by allowing the Ethereum community to contribute to the making of a film about the platform.”

Versus Entertainment will produce the film, which will be directed by Alejandro Miranda, with executive producers Camila Russo and Francisco Gordillo of crypto hedge fund Avenue Investment. Earlier this summer, a crowdfunding campaign for an Ethereum documentary set to premiere in 2021 earned almost $1.9 million.

NFT’s playing an important role:

NFTs are an important aspect of the project since they build a community spirit while also providing funding for manufacturing. The collection will include works by 50 artists from the United States, Mexico, India, and Kenya, among others.

Each selected artist will work on ten variations of the Ethereum logo, which will be divided into four equal portions to produce 10,499 unique ETH logo mosaics. Aside from the looks, several of the NFTs offer functionality and specific bonuses for the owners. Holders of some can appear as extras in the film, attend the premiere as a VIP, and tour the set.

Ethereum has climbed to become the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, with a market cap of $500 billion, since its introduction. With a market capitalization of over $1 trillion, Bitcoin remains the most valuable cryptocurrency, but there are still rumors of a reversal circulating in the ecosystem.
